phone transition, a happy result

As lots of people in IT one of my major sources of stress is doing support for family members. This is a disgraceful task and only leads to judgemental situation, frustrations, fights and word in the same semantics. Not this time. I will share the adventure, as to my surprise, my toughest user had a great experience, and started to enjoy technology. It is rare enough to be remarkable. three days ago, my mom's phone switched off for the very last time. She forgot her old iPhone4 in the compartment under the radio in the car. Eventually the battery drained before the phone was found again. After four years of services, the precious piece of technology died, and couldn't charge again. As the "subject of the experiment" is living in a remote place without any shop able to sell her a new "smart"phone. In the meantime, I could find a basic phone for the day. Something that dials, take calls, and can handle SMS ... The setback was very badly taken. It seems that technology became a due and something not to be taken away. I decided to do what every "connected" person from a first world country would do in this situation would do in 2016: buy online with a next day delivery. We settled on a relatively cheap Motorola Moto3G with a cornflower blue cover. A first experience with a Samsung a couple of years ago had been a terrible one. the "skinning" from the manufacturer had been a source of lots of horrible moments, where something was trying to be an iphone without being one. I ended up with the object of the rage and was told to never offer this phone again in any circumstances. Unfortunately, I was going to leave this place on the very same day and will have to do everything remotely. This created a massive anxiety from my mum's side, with lots of questions. Why is an iphone so expensive compared with these "droids" she wasn't searching for ... How will she get her emails back on her phone ? and her contacts ? will the swipe gestures she learned over the years something she won't use anymore ? I called her a couple of hours after the reception of the phone, and had to remotely fix some issues with the wifi: Typos and misreadings, we could fix this also thanks to the "show password" option. She already had the curiosity to look around the phone, the applications and the settings. This is something that never happened before. The relation with technology until now was a utilitarian burden where everything was a chore. ** remote installation of apps. ** hangout out of the box ** contacts ** change of behaviour ** overview

Carbon Fiber Bike Built With 3D Printer - Fettlers - Chapter 2

I find that really inspiring. In our day and age someone with knowledge they can get from the internet is able to build a beautiful bike.

I think my grand father would have spent days looking like a kid in a candy shop if he was alive nowadays.

The amount of opportunities we have nowadays are just mind boggling.
