This is a short sighted view with a 2000’s style communication in mind, not 2014 and onwards.
Even if there is currently a bottleneck at the personal computer side, this is very short sighted for the development of the country. Especially when televisions are talking about on demand TV, 4K and 8K (very very high resolution). There is a need for large bandwidth in a short medium term. Telstra is developing ideas of telepresence conferences and doing demos about that … how do you do that on conventional line with other people doing things on the line at the same time ?
There is a saying in France that approximatively says that : “accusing his dog of having rabies to justify getting rid of it “
That plus the surveillance, Australia is not looking like the place of the future … the next government will have some catching up to do…
